
Warm Apple Crumble with Caramel & Pecan

Enjoy a warm apple crumble with a crispy pecan topping, served with vanilla ice cream and rich caramel sauce. The perfect dessert for a cosy evening.

Ingredients
- 600 gtart apples — approx. 4 medium apples
- 1 tbsplemon juice
- 25 glight brown caster sugar
- 1 tspcinnamon
- 1 tspvanilla extract
- 75 gflour
- 50 goats
- 75 gbutter — cold
- 50 glight brown caster sugar
- 60 gpecans — unsalted
- ¼ tspsea salt — fine
- 4 scoopsvanilla ice cream — approx. 200 g
- 60 gcaramel sauce
Method

Preheat the oven to 190 °C top and bottom heat.

Peel the apples, remove the cores and cut the flesh into chunky cubes of approximately 2 cm.

Mix the apple with lemon juice, 25 g caster sugar, cinnamon and vanilla extract.

Divide the apple mixture over an oven dish of approximately 20 × 20 cm.

Roughly chop the pecans.

Mix flour, oats, 50 g caster sugar and sea salt. Cut the cold butter into cubes and rub it into the mixture with your fingertips until coarse, irregular crumbs form.

Mix about three-quarters of the chopped pecans through the crumble.

Loosely spread the crumble over the apples. Do not press it down. Sprinkle the remaining pecans over the top.

Bake the apple crumble for 25–30 minutes in the middle of the oven, until the top is golden brown and crispy and the apple filling gently bubbles along the edges.

Let stand for about 5 minutes. Divide into four bowls and serve each portion with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and approximately 15 g caramel sauce.
